Twitter Partners with PGA Tour

Twitter Inc. said Thursday it formed a partnership with the PGA Tour under which it will serve as the exclusive global streaming platform for the organizer of professional golf tours and distribute more than 70 hours of live competition coverage.

The microblogging company will begin live streaming on Jan. 19 and conclude at the season-ending Tour championship. Live streams will be available around the world to both of Twitter’s logged-in and logged-out audience and can be found at and on @PGATour.

“Streaming PGA TOUR LIVE programming to Twitter’s global audience, as well as the millions of users who follow @PGATOUR and hundreds of PGA TOUR player accounts, will provide new and innovative ways for sports fans to engage with our premium OTT offering,” said Rick Anderson, PGA Tour’s chief media officer.
